Background

Learning foreign languages is getting more central to a part of education or personal learning, but hard to keep up learning especially when people are in their own country because there is no environment to use the languages people learn.

The problem

Learning foreign languages needs to be motivated and practicing a lot in a real-life environment. But it is difficult to keep it up if you are living in your own country.

Methodology

I conducted three different ways including user interviews, survey, and competitive analysis. The primary objective of my study was to gain profound insights into the correlation between individuals and their acquisition of new languages.

Methodology

Most interviewees rarely find opportunities online using

specific languages due to the reason of the security problem.

Whether in-person or online, most interviewees prefer

learning from actual people.

All interviewees have motivation to learn foreign languages.

(e.g. For expanding community, for finding a job etc.)

・85.7% of people were motivated to learn languages to communicate with more people who speak the language, but 85.7 % of people have given up learning new languages with the reasons of

・It was difficult to find other speakers to practice with.

・The person could not see the progress.

・Some people lost motivations.

・63.6% of people have learned foreign languages online or applications but they mentioned

・Memorizing only activity did not work well to improve.

・Memorizing based learning without conversation practices did not help.

・86.7% of people are interested in connecting with people to practice languages from

After conducting the usability test, I discovered that the tasks were generally straightforward and uncomplicated. However, the participants recommended using distinct colors and a more organized layout to improve the design's usability.
