Wise is an international money transfer service, and the need for this app for people traveling worldwide is significant. We realized there could be a suggested feature to add on wise to encourage them to increase users and expand their possibilities in business.

The problem

Wise currently has a "Jar" feature where you can set money aside whenever you need it. Users can transfer the money to the jar and withdraw whenever. However, with this current feature, it is not easy for users to reach their saving money goals. Additionally, in terms of businesswise, it is great to know that users are trying to save money in their accounts. So, how might we possibly achieve those two main goals by adding new features?

Methodology

I conducted three different ways including user interviews, survey, and competitive analysis. My target audience consisted of individuals who have utilized banking apps, and through these interactions, I gained insights into the critical features that motivate continued app usage.

Key Insights

From the research, I found that people have had a hard time saving money because some people are separating their bank accounts. Moreover, individuals who use different currencies also face challenges when it comes to saving money. As a result, they are actively seeking effective methods for improving their savings habits.

First of all, I created a story board about Jihea to organize and dig out what her actually needs are. After that, I conducted the ideation ways called Crazy 8 to come up more ideas.

After conducting the usability test, the most significant finding was that the majority of users preferred having a notification setting rather than a "send a message" setting.

Learnings

This project is a prototype concept for an existing company. Working on it was a great opportunity to survey real users and add a new feature that improved the user experience and provided value to the company. Through insights gained during usability testing, I was able to further improve the design and I am confident in my ability to apply these skills in future design projects.
